To begin with, during the formative years of people, it is imperative for them to receive the best services and facilities that universities could offer. Furthermore, it is a fact that most students who are exposed in a competitive environment with equally intellectual students excel greatly in academies. For instance, Seoul University, a top university in Seoul South Korea, is known to only admit students who graduated with outstanding marks in high school. Their graduates were able to make names in Science, Trade and Technology.
Despite the aforementioned argument, Education should be accessible to all age group since this is a basic right. Anyone who aims to study shall be allowed to learn if they are willing to learn. In addition, there should never be a monopoly of knowledge and it should be given to individuals with diverse backgrounds, economic status, ethnicity and academic performance. To illustrate, in the Philippines, Vic Morales , a 55 year-old, recently graduated from the University of the Philippines. Aside from his age, he also gained recognition from the academic world since he is the first who graduated in the university who belongs to an ethnic tribe in the Philippines.
In conclusion, Education should never be limited to the young and intelligent individuals, it should also be shared to anyone regardless of age and academic performance because it is human right and knowledge should never be monopolized.
